How this calculator works
Your grade is the total points you earned divided by the total points possible, shown as a percentage. Each assignment counts in proportion to its points, so a 100-point test affects your grade more than a 10-point quiz.
Grade % = (sum of points earned ÷ sum of points possible) × 100
Example: 18/20, 42.5/50 and 88/100 give 148.5 ÷ 170 × 100 = 87.35%, which is a B+ on the standard US scale.
Points possible can be 0 for an extra-credit item. Empty rows are ignored. To find what you need on the rest of the course, enter the points still to come and your target: needed points = target × (possible so far + remaining) ÷ 100 − points earned.
